From our survey results it appears that most of you are struggling with the lull of work between Network Rail’s crossover period from CP6 to CP7. Here’s a few snippets of the anonymous replies we have received: 😮

“Lack of work visibility from Network Rail between control periods.”
“Reduced work volumes & constantly waiting for CP7 to start.”
“Slow transition between control periods, which should have been smoothed out by now.”
“NWR spend coming through from CP6 to CP7 and a general lack of long-term vision.”
“Non-existent work-bank in the new Control Period.”
“Still waiting for CP7 to start which means we have low internal staff utilisation and the outsourcing & organising of potential work is impossible.”
“Getting the work bank in from being talked about, to actual deliverables within a contract.”
“Despite major contracts being awarded months ago we are still waiting for CP7 to start – this means we have reduced workloads and lower work volumes.”
