Once again Balfour Beatty has successfully renewed its role as being the sole contractor for both of the Scape Civil Engineering frameworks which cover the UK, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland.

Over the next four years both of the Scape Civil Engineering frameworks are worth up to £3.25bn and £750m respectively.

SCAPE provides a responsible procurement experience for non-public procuring bodes that delivers speed, value for money, inclusive social value and superior performance management. Both SCAPE Frameworks enable local authorities and public sector organisations to commission their works via a procurement process which delivers a quick route to market.  As well as this the procurement process will cover a period of 4 years with an option to extend for another 2 years.

Balfour Beatty will continue to deliver projects across various civils sectors which include highways, defence and marine for UK local authorities and government agencies.  The first project schemes are expected to be awarded from as early as 2023.

It is also expected that Balfour Beatty will collaborate and engage with local SME’s who will sit at the heart of the new frameworks.

Both SCAPE frameworks are specifically designed to enable better access for smaller businesses to get into the major public sector contracts. The framework also enables public sector organisations to work with and engage local specialist contractors.
