

The construction arm of Mace Group has certainly helped put the group back on track to achieving £2bn revenue this year. In 2021 its pre-tax profit was £17m but has now reached a massive £38m as revenues rose to £1.93bn.
Indeed, their Chief executive Mark Reynolds predicted that this year’s revenue would top £2bn putting Mace on track to reach 3bn by 2026. Amazing performance figures and despite the impact of Covid-19 the company’s contracting division drove growth in both profits and revenues contributing £1.5bn or 76% of total group revenues. Not only were profits and revenues up the company’s operating margin rose from 2.8% to 3.8%.
Mace’s Consult business achieved record growth, reaching £366m, a 7.1% increase on 2020. The total number of employees rose from 5,400 to 6,000.
Reynolds said revenue for the group was budgeted to be £2.15bn for 2022, although he warned this could be missed due to project delays in the face of economic headwinds.
He said: “The continued uncertainty caused by the Russian invasion in Ukraine, energy price increases and more recently currency fluctuations is proving challenging for everyone – however, through industry collaboration and championing better ways of working we are confident that 2022 will be another record year.”
