Network Rail £116m Resignalling Scheme

Network Rail is set to reach a major milestone investing £116m into a state-of-the-art resignalling scheme.  The company intends to switch on all 116 digital signals installed across parts of South West London & Berkshire. The project also included installing 11 kilometres of new cabling all housed in 14 kilometres of refurbished cable ducts and 27 new under-track able routes to support the new technology.

This 4-year signalling program will be concluded next year in 2024 with the completion & upgrading of key signalling equipment controlled by the Feltham Area Signalling Centre (which operates on an old signalling system dating back to 1974) & Wokingham Signal Box.  Once the program is complete 13 level crossings will also have been renewed or upgraded with the aim of improving train performance.

Another major milestone for Network Rail! #Signalling #Design #News #UK #Railways
